This is a great opportunity to deepen your meditation practice by allowing you to cultivate self-awareness for an extended period under the guidance of true meditation masters. Luangpor Da will be joined by two experienced teachers that will be traveling from Thailand to lead the retreat.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend–open to beginners and experienced meditators.

  • Luangpor Da is an ordained Thai Forest Monk who has been teaching for decades. He was a close student of Thai Master, Luangpor Teean, and is currently Abbott of our center in Redding, CT.

  • Ajahn Pikul is considered one of the leading female teachers in Luangpor Teean’s lineage. She has been practicing Mahasati Insight Meditation since meeting Luangpor Teean in 1987, and has established her own meditation center in Phayao, northern Thailand.

  • Ajahn Tavivat studied under Luangpor Teean as a lay practitioner. It is Ajahn Tavivat who first brought Luangpor Teean’s method of insight meditation to the United States more than 30 years ago. He is also the author of many publications in Thai and English including the book To One That Feels.

While most of the day will be in silence, there will be Dhamma talks and discussions offered in both the morning and afternoon.

The retreat will also feature a potluck lunch. This is a great way to show appreciation for our visiting teachers. If you are able, please bring a dish that you enjoy sharing with others. Please click here for a sign-up sheet of what dish you are bringing. There is a refrigerator, oven, and microwave available to store and heat up the food that you bring. If you have other dietary restrictions, or any questions, you may contact us at info@WenhamInsight.org.
